Come hear how Fort York, nearly a century after U. S. Forces destroyed it in 1813, was almost overrun again. As part of the 30th Annual Festival of Storytelling, Toronto Culture presents in its Fabled City series a recounting of how a streetcar line was planned to be built right through the middle of the fort to the CNE. Chris Cavanagh, a popular educator, writer and graphic artist, will recall the intrigue and battle over the scheme that went from the streets of Toronto to City Hall, and from Queen’s Park all the way to Parliament Hill. Bring a picnic lunch to eat before the show and we will provide dessert. Pre-registration is required: 416-392-6907 or fortyork@toronto.ca
